SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
Re-cap on the year 5 session and how smoking effects the body. A look at why 80% of people do not smoke and why people smoke at all.
ACTIVITIES
DRAW A BODY
Very large pieces of paper are given out. In groups of 3-4, one child lays on the paper, another traces their outline. All must work at writing the diseases caused by smoking on the body and preferably in the right place.
Back in Circle Time the class work together with GASP to make the perfect answer body.
SO WHY DO PEOPLE SMOKE?
To contrast the body, there is a Circle Time discussion addressing why people smoke. The answers are recorded next to the body showing the diseases.

WHY DO PEOPLE SMOKE?
The class write down reasons why people don’t smoke and why some people might start to smoke.

The class listen to the poem, ‘I’d Rather Not’
WAYS OF SAYING NO!!
In groups of 3 the class do role play in order to explore ways of saying no to smoking. As a class we discuss strategies to use and practise saying no.
