YEAR 7 – IN DEPTH LOOK AT SMOKING RELATED DISEASES

SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
Having learned in Primary what diseases can be caused by smoking, this session looks more deeply at what these diseases mean and how they affect the body.

GENERAL DISCUSSION
About the effects of smoking.

Class split into groups of 3-5 people.  Each group is given one disease.  Every team member takes it in turns to scribe.  They study the disease pack then rush back to write down their fact.

As a class we ensure that the right facts have been put with the correct disease.
 
DEEPER LEARNING
This session is adapted according to lesson time.  We use a variety of resources and research materials to take a closer look at lung diseases, stroke, heart attack and gangrene.
